Hello!

Welcome, dear visitor! My name is Jozef Vacval and this is my personal website. I made it mainly to keep the photos and videos from my hikes, trips and journeys stored and sorted in one place. So they bring back memories and remind me of the places I have been. And also because if someone is interested in any of these places, they will find at least an impression of them here, and a bit of information.

The photo galleries are mostly from the High Tatras and the Alps, but also from Iceland, Norway and other mountain ranges, cities and countries. I have been storing memories this way since 2015 — whether it was an easy walk, a demanding hike or a via ferrata, or just a short visit to a city. I am not after artistic quality in the photos and videos, but after capturing a place as realistically as possible — a place I found interesting.

For a few years now (time flies) I have also been filming short road trip videos and creating interactive 360° panoramas. I try to capture places in as much detail as possible, exactly as they are. No photo of a palm tree with a rubbish dump hidden behind it. And since the number of places to visit is almost endless, I will keep adding more.

I have my own company, where I develop software delivered as an online service. You will find some of the projects further down the page. Alongside those, I also have a few smaller private projects I tinker with, more for the joy of it. After all, this website is one of them too.
